Watch Tower
The tallest folly at the park
This leisure structure is to be considered as a n inhabitable sculpture like a "folie". Functioning as a watchtower (20m high), the purpose is to bring people in an upward journey through a comfortable staircase, which consists of a metal structure with an assembly of randomly perforated aluminium panels.
The journey stops at three balconies at different levels in order to bring rest and contemplative views to the Arts Garden. A sense of privileged isolation and unique gaze that one usually only gets from the tall and dense built environment which overwhelms Macao's urban landscape.
