Macao Cultural Centre Redesign Rooftop Flap

Typhoon Hato hit Macao in 2017
and destroyed the rear end of this iconic feature.

The rooftop structure was destroyed by the typhoon Hato (2017) and needs to be properly redesigned and reconstructed.
In accordance with our assessment the original structural design wasn’t fit to face the challenges of such strong winds.
The awarded service is highly demanding on the structural analysis field and includes Wind Tunnel Testing.
It was a very tough tender competition in which the final decision was governed mainly by the merit of the technical proposal and not by the commercial part.
