Footbridge Folie
Why shouldn't a footbridge be an urban folie?
The current project for the pedestrian footbridge located at Avenida Marginal Flor de Lotus, in Taipa, is intended to be more unusual than we are accustomed to in the urban landscape of Macau. We intend to propose an architectural and structural language that will become a visual landmark and attempts to capture both the imagination and create new memories on those who cross it or glimpse it in passing. Instead of being a generic, uncharacteristic and gray infrastructure, our proposal opted for a bolder idea and design a fun, colorful piece that appeals to the playful sense of passersby. The purpose of this proposal is to encourage people to cross the pedestrian footbridge, experience the panoramic views that the large avenue provides and promote the territory's pedestrian routes in order to make a functional connection with the new bike paths and playgrounds recently implemented and which have had great adhesion from the population.
