A Farmer Holding a Sickle at Hand, Ready to Cut the Crops

In the entrance-hall we are faced with a plot of corridors and diagonals that we cross and inspect. Disposed on the bamboo sticks are loose sentences from Ricci’s Treaty on Friendship. By accessing the first floor of the lobby we notice from above that the maze conceals a logographic floor plan. It is the character åˆ©, the Mandarin name adopted by Ricci which, according to a symbolic reading, stands for A peasant with a sickle in hand, ready to harvest the crop he planted.
